I will give general troubleshooting tips for this:

- Look at the html source and inspect the path of the icon image and make sure it looks good. Compare the icon url with another image which  displays fine and determine if the url pieces match.

- Construct the full url for the image and open it by itself in a new browser window and see if it displays or not.

- Hit refresh several times and clear the browser's cache.

- check the physcial folder and make sure the image file exists.

- Inspect the image file permissions. Should have read permission. For testing give everyone read permisson and undo after testing.

Tony,

Thanks for tips. But please read the reports I filed in Gemini. Note that there is a live demonstration of the problem, and note the fact that one portal alias works but another does not even though both point to the same portal with the same physical directory etc etc. So why does it work for one portal alias but not the other portal alias??? And again note that the portal works fine otherwise for both portal aliases. The only problem is missing container icons on one portal alias but not the other, and I have tried clearing the caches...
