Yes, the SolPart menu in DNN 4.0.2 works with FireFox.  I just tested and did not get the behaviour you are describing.

If you can post a link, then we may be able to figure out what is wrong in your situation.

It may not be the skin, but you can easily verify if it is by applying the default skin that has not been modified to a page and seeing if it works as it should.

If it does, then we will have narrowed it down to being something in the skin you are using.

Based on the lack of posts regarding this, and the amount of skins that are working on DNN4, I don't think it's a showstopper.

What you need to do when you have problems with menus is go back to the original file, eg.. a working file in DNN.- the default skin, take the menu settings from there and replace your menu settings that don't work.

  • Then refresh the page, if that doesn't work, then look at removing the menu settings that you have for the modules.
  • Then refresh the page, if that doesn't work, remove the container or replace with a working container
  • Then, refresh the page, if that doesn't work, replace the skin, until you have established when the error occurs.

The menu works, and I've some behaviour changes, but am working on some complex skins at the moment so not sure what it is.

We're working blind here, and need either code, skin file or link to the problem so we can at least visually identify something we can't replace.

*sigh*.. we're only human.

The only time I have come across this behaviour is when you change the DOC Type of DotNetNuke to XHTML 1.0 Transitional.

Have you made a change to your default.aspx file in DotNetNuke so that it uses XHTML Transitional? - If you have you need to use a different menu such as the HouseMenu as the Solpart menu is currently not compatible in this Doc Type.

Theres an article here on Browser Quirks, Standard Compliance modes and Doc Types outlining the pros and cons and solutions of using different doc types in DotNetNuke.

Just a thought, otherwise I haven't come across this problem in a default installation of DotNetNuke,

Thanks,

I would guess that dnncreative is on the right track as well.  Though you shouldn't have to remove solpart to fix it, instead just apply the latest script file available on solpart.com or wait for 3.3/4.1, for after reading this I found that FireFox requires the pixels to be specified with the updated doctype.

Thanks Jon - seriously not many people can be using Firefox? PS - Nice menus on your own site! Where is the best place to go to find out how to do a menu that nice? Cheers.
