I been trying to find reference on how to make the dnn:Menu works the way it is being use on this site Left Side Navigation (http://dotnetnuke.com) where it show's only the menu items of the currently selected menu. is this a simple configuration this is a custom control that is only available to dotnetnuke site?

Yes you can do that with dnnMENU, please see our latest skinning document here. Still in beta but should help you understand how it works.

Short answer: create 2 dnnMENU and set the one on the site column to display on child pages of the current selected by by specifying the Level attribute in the control.

I have Version 4.9 wil it work or do I need to upgrade to version 5.0?  Thanks for the fast response.
