Isn't SOLPARTMENU using javascript to change the class of the items? Because then the order of the style definitions shouldn't matter......

What is trying to be explained is this - http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_pseudo_classes.asp  You need to place the order of the link behaviour to get it to work.

Anchor Pseudo-classes

A link that is active, visited, unvisited, or when you mouse over a link can all be displayed in different ways in a CSS-supporting browser:

a:link {color: #FF0000} /* unvisited link */
a:visited {color: #00FF00} /* visited link */
a:hover {color: #FF00FF} /* mouse over link */
a:active {color: #0000FF} /* selected link */

Note: a:hover MUST come after a:link and a:visited in the CSS definition in order to be effective!!

Note: a:active MUST come after a:hover in the CSS definition in order to be effective!!

Note: Pseudo-class names are not case-sensitive.

Hi
jmorrissette wrote "any explanation would certainly be helpful", that's why I was wondering about the order of the classes.
I think Solpart Menu changes the class name of the items to:
.MainMenu_Selected
.MainMenu_BreadcrumbActive
.MainMenu_Over
.MainMenu_Active
through javascript.
If this is true the order of the css definitions shouldn't matter since there are no pseudo classes involved.
They are ordinary class names changed with javascript.
Or do you think I'm missing something here?
Timo
