Thanks for the repky flanakin, but now I'm a little confused...

If its an issue with the skin as well as the container, then why does this problem occur only with this container?

For the result you're going for, you need the skin and container to be in harmony. If it's just this skin that causes the problem, then most likely, your skin is ready to go.

Did you make my suggested fix to the container? This should've fixed it. If not, let us know what it did vs. what you are looking for it to do. I may have misunderstood.

Thanks flanakin,

I did make the fix - and what happens now is that the container adjusts to the size of its contents, and everything within the container is centred as it should be. However, the container is not centred on the page. The contents of the container html file is:

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" id="table1">
 <tr>
  <td width="14" height="46" background="topleft.gif">&nbsp;</td>
  <TD BACKGROUND="topmid.gif" HEIGHT=46 ALIGN=LEFT VALIGN=TOP>
   <TABLE BORDER=0 CELLPADDING=0 CELLSPACING=0>
    <TR HEIGHT=6><TD COLSPAN=3></TD></TR>
    <TR><TD VALIGN=TOP>[VISIBILITY]</TD><TD>[ACTIONS]</TD><TD ALIGN=LEFT VALIGN=MIDDLE>  [TITLE]</TD></TR>
   </TABLE>
  </TD>
  <td background="topright.gif" width="14">&nbsp;</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
  <td width="14" background="left.gif">&nbsp;</td>
  <TD>
   <TABLE BORDER=0 CELLPADDING=0 CELLSPACING=0>
    <TR><TD id="ContentPane" runat="server"></TD></TR>
   </TABLE>
  </TD>

  <td background="right.gif">&nbsp;</td>
 </tr>
 <tr>
  <td width="14" background="bLeft.gif" height="24">&nbsp;</td>
  <td background="bMid.gif">&nbsp;</td>
  <td background="bright.gif">&nbsp;</td>
 </tr>
</table>

I can't see what else it could be with the container, as there is no css or xml or anything associated with it. Where could I start looking in the skin for an underlying problem?

Thanks! Pete

If you want the container centered, then you need to have style="text-align:center;" (or something similar) on the pane.
