Freddie,

I was slightly confused because in Firefox these both show up exactly the same, but then I had a look in IE and I see the difference.

I think the best thing to do here is to create a plain HTML layout first (outside of DNN) and style this using CSS so it looks the way you want, don't forget to cross browser test, make sure you give the table an ID or class and use this in your CSS to target the table. Now if you apply this table and CSS to DNN it should work as you want.

Rick.

Hi

I was unable to create a plain HTML layout outside of DNN. Guess I need a tool like Dreamweaver. I tried it in editor but my know-how of HTML and especially CSS are too bad. I don't even know how to apply a table or CSS to DNN. If you can give me a short overview where to do what? It's not important...
Nevertheless I would like to have some instructions to read up what I'm looking for instead of trying and asking... ;-)

Just to let you know; I found a solution with MS Word and it looks the way I want (copy & paste). Not professional, I know...

I have another question, but first I'll try by myself. If I'm not successful I'll open a new thread.

Thanks again for your support,
Freddie

Freddie,

I'd try and stay away from cutting and pasting from word to DNN, the code it createds is truly aweful from a designers perspective. However if this is the only option then I suppose you'll need to use it. Have you tried working with a developer on this? The work you're looking for sounds pretty quick and shouldn't cost too much to get done by a freelancer. (This is only a feasable idea if you have a budget for it though).

Regarding the adding of CSS, this can be done through the CSS Editor which can be found Admin > SiteSettings.

If you're looking for a good book, I'd recommend HTML Mastery (http://htmlmastery.com/) and CSS Mastery (http://www.cssmastery.com/), I've read them both and they're really easy to understand. As long as you spend the time trying out the examples you should get a handle on HTML and CSS fairly quickly.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Rick.
