jQuery does not read databases. 

You could create a web service that read the database and then use jQuery/Ajax to call the web service.

It's far more than just a bit of syntax.

Actually, how do integrate a webservice with DNN?
Have this example webservice, but it was done with just Visual Web Dev. So, I don't know how to make it for my DNN skin that will have the JQuery and AJAX.

WARNING - AFAICT there is NO security on such a web service. This may not matter to you if you intended to display the data on a public facing web page anyway.

 What does building a module have to do with making a webservice? I'm a bit confused here.

I just need the webservice so I can make a function that gets the data from my server and then I can use JQuery to display it.
