Hi

am trying to do some skinning in DNN6.2. but am stomped in a particulasr point
When logged in, a small avatar figure appears next to the user name.
However, when a user hasn't uploaded any pic, it will show the basic grey nopic image.

I managed to change the default avatar on the user profile page but can't find anywhere how to change the defaylt avatar in that particular place

I know that it is part of the dnnUser skin object, what i don't know is how can i set it to my own image.

Any information regarding this would be much appreciated.

So would some sort of DNN SkinObject's Cheat Sjeet of sorts, updated with the changes that DNN 6.2 brought in.

Hi Luis,

are I am right that you want change the image of the default Avatar only?  Or would you disable the avatar?

To change the avatar image you have to look at the stylesheet of the skin and looking about the LoginTokens controls.

To disable the avatars you could simple add ShowAvatar and set it to fals on the Skin control.

< dnn:USER runat="server" id="dnnUSER" cssclass="LoginTokens" ShowAvatar="false" />

Hi Mathias

You are right when you say i want to change the default avatar image - not remove it

Looking at the skin, i find the #Login .loginGroup and it's decendents, and sure enough it's what i use to change the look of the login/register/language control in DNN 6.2, however, the only image referemces i find in it are for it's background (that button like greyscale look) and for the messages/notifications buttons.

i think that, like the icon on the search object, it's hardcoded default to an image somwhere in the system, and on the seatch object i have to add an SiteIconURL attribute to the dnnSearch object in the ASCX files to change from the default icon to my personalized one.

So i was thinking the dnnUser object had some similar attribute to be set or something - however i can't find any information about it

I worked also on a own skin project where I had to change the notification and message buttons.  I know there are some images and know there are 2 or 4 images on one file that will be get on the code with some possition properties.  BUt I am sure they could be changed on CSS!

True - they are - but like i said i have found those and the image in the background

What i can't find is the avatar image itself - if the user has an image on it's profile, the user's image shows up, but if they don't, a default grey head silhouette shows, and that's the image i am looking to change
