Hello everyone!  We have been hosting websites for schools and teachers on our highly customized versions of DNN and have always overlooked our own corporate site until just recently.  Looking at our own website performance, it's not exactly "zippy", and I can't seem to find what's preventing it frmo being as fast as it should be, and I was hoping somebody could throw me some ideas as to what I can do to make my site faster.

Our website is http://www.schooldesk.net, and if anyone has a few minutes to take a peek at it and give me a few pointers, it would be VERY appreciated!

Thanks everyone!

Rob

size of the home page is 4 MB in total and 163 elements. I would consider simplifying the content and reduce number of files (e.g. by using a sprite) and its size.

I agree with Sebastian; 132 objects, 86 of which are images, 33 scripts (js) and 9 css files. Looks like you used Artisteer for the skin. I'd recommend running a YSlow on it and work hard to reduce the object count and page payload. That will improve the performance on all pages dramatically.

If you're on DNN 6.x you could also implement the CDF to combine/minify js and css.

time to first byte looks pretty good, but the latency on those objects is a big performance hit.
