Yes, I have turned Smart-Thinker.com off. It was DNN 3 I think and full of vulnerabilities that could compromise the server.

This is the one I want "one is from scratch building up the skin in a correctly formatted clean structure, which no one wants to pay for,"  except I am happy to pay for it if the design was well implemented - I just need to know a rough idea how much a service like this might cost to decide if it is worth pursuing. 

I definitely do not want the all the guff that makes up the template - but its not often I am able to give such a clear spec as "convert this template to DNN" - usually my requirements are WAY more high-level  ;)

I think Nina gave a good start.

I'll add a couple more. That site seems to have a very large suite of options, each option you want bumps the cost.

There's a bunch of custom graphics resources. Is this really 'convert' == I have a right to re-purpose those graphics in the new skin; or is it really 'reverse engineer' == I want someone to create a matching set of graphics as new IP?

Traditional DNN skins often have a home page variant, and maybe two or three internal page variants - all more cost. Traditional DNN skins separate containers and skins. A skin may have a handful of container variations. You need to give clues about where that break might be - what should the page look like with a module on it? With two modules on it?

Ok, I see. So what I am looking for a skin package that contains the home page, social page and a right hand pane container. It should have the usual H1 -> H3 containers. The idea is that IF I populated the content with the example I posted then it would look similar.

Note: I do not want the content/images, just the skin. It is the layout and shell that I battle with - in the past I would buy the template and grab out the bits I wanted, but my design skills are rubbish, hence I am wondering if there is a service like this and how much it would cost roughly (with contingency for unknowns/risk etc). I am thinking of between $500 and $1500 but I really have no idea, hence the question.
