Hello all.

I'm using DNN 5.6.4 and have a question about the site search results. If I search for "banquet" on my site, I get results of the pages that contain that word.  However, if I search for "ban" I get no items returned.  Is there a feature within DNN that will do indexing on my page contents?

 Thanks.

David

Why? I suggest upgrading to 6.2.9 or 7.1.2

The DNN 5.x search was pretty rudimentary and has little configuration beyond the shortest word's to index (as far as I remember it was 3, which may be why "ban" is not showing). DNN 7.1 introduced a full lucene based search which is light years ahead of the old search (see http://www.dnnsoftware.com/community-... for an example) -if search is important to you I highly recommend considering upgrading to DNN 7.1.0 or higher

Hi guys.

Thanks for the quick responses.  My platform is provided at no charge for our not-for-profit.  We just converted to 5.6.4 last year. We made two efforts at the time to go to 6.x and we not successful.   I think we're going to be using this version for a little while longer.

Thanks again for the info!!

you should at least upgrade to latest DNN 5 version, IMHO (5.6.8 AFAIR)
