Sebastian,

We're still having issues with the template creation.  I can't seem to get the document uploader to work.

I'm not sure of what's exposed here by my attempt -- will try to create a site with the API to make sure the template is or isn't alright but for the last year any template has worked.

How do I get the upload to happen on the Forum site? (The paper clip icon on the text editor that exposes a folder tree but not where to put items :) )

Thanks,

Miike

AFAIK document upload is not supported in this forum, you would need to use a different file sharing service.

I am not aware of recent changes regarding content Items in templates being made.

We are still on 7.2.1.

No updates since.  However, only since doing this cleanup are we having issues.

Will try to do this via the API and if no joy then eliminate page choices in the template until the issue is isolated.

Thanks,

Mike

Sebastian,

The penny just dropped on this end.  We have reports modules where the query can only be input by a Host.  But ... during the child portal creation process, which bypasses the API, a user with lesser privileges will be creating the portals.  When our portal creation process is run, we don't get the descendant pages where the reports modules live and also don't get reports modules on the new portals at all.

This gets involved -- I'm saying where we have parent pages, and these also have reports modules on them, they get created.  But where we have descendant pages with only those modules on them, no descendant page is created.

Descendent tabs that have reports modules in them aren't being created when our portal creation procedure is done.  They do happen when done from the Host menu via the API.  If I'm making sense here ... it looks like we need to allow for something in the reports modules settings for 1) the descendant pages they live on to be created and 2) for the modules to be copied and function on newly created portals.

Do I need to word this more succinct and less complicated?  I'm trying to describe something that I may not have a full grasp on. :)

More info here ...

I cleaned up the database of all our test sites, we had many.  Needed plenty of test purchases to get reports working right.

With just portal 0 existing now, and making a new site with our process, definitely the Reports modules and child pages they're on don't copy.  But using the API and creating a child portal they do,  So the answer here is to place the reports modules by stored procedure later on the back end.  Evidently the Reports modules will only place and configure if the host is logged in.

If it comes to putting a module in by passing the stored procedures the right values and hard-coding in host ID, I'd just need the existing Stored Procs in DNN to be called and just do it that way.

Thanks,

Mike
