I have only created incoming web services for DotNetNuke, not outgoing. I know outgoing web services require "full trust" and DotNetNuke runs in "partial trust". However I am sure it is still possible. It seems you need to create a web reference to the web service.

Also the proper directory for your class code for your module is:

\App_Code\ParcelRoute

Hi Mike,

Must admit, I'm not totally sure if the MS MapPoint Webservice is an inbound or an outbound...? To overcome my immediate problem with this area I have just added a WebReference to the project at DNN level. This seems to have worked as lots of errors disappeared once i did this. My project currently compiles with no errors. I appreciate that to put this into distributable module, I will have to revisit this and sort it, but I think this should be the last thing on my list to get it working...

I have definitely placed the Global.asax file in the directory above with no success. Do you think this problem maybe with the WebReference itself and not the location of the Global.asax file?

Could i be cheeky and email you my code for you to take 5 mins look at?

I dont think I would be much help. I think you have reached the limit of my experience with outgoing web services and DotNetNuke (since I have never done one :). Perhaps if you post some code others could help?

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your help...

Must admit, reading back through this post.. It seems to suggest that my problem may actually lie with the web reference? Is that your feeling? I was assuming i had screwed up my code somewhere not that it's something DNN cant do?

But, then again, you do say that in theory dnn should be able to do web referenences.

Im in limbo now. My soluttion, based on a 4.5.3 framework in VS 2005, using a template for a DNN module is not working.... The project compiles with no errors...but refuses to do a mappoint webservice call...why? i dont know...

as for posting code... what would you like to see?

I think it is failing because DotNetNuke is running under partial trust and it need full trust. But I'm way out of my comfort zone at this point. Hopefully someone has an answer.
