Hi Westa,

Thanks for the information.

  1. User Page:
    • Are you referring to "Admin → Site Settings→Advanced Settings → Page Management → User Page (Drop Down Menu)"?
    • Default options are: <None Specified>, Home, Search Results.
    • Are you saying that I create a new page, and select this new page?
  2. Manage Profile Settings/ Edit Profile Property Definition:
    • "Admin → User Accounts → Manage Profile Settings → Edit Profile Propert Definition"
    • How do I extend this "module" to include an option to "include/exclude" this profile for which Role during registration?
    • Property Name: Prefix
      Data Type: TrueFalse;Date;DateTime;CountryList;Locale;Page;Region;RichText;TimeZone;Integer;Text;Unknown
      Property Category:
      Length:
      Default Value:
      Validation Expression:
      Required:
      Visible:
      View Order:

  3. Required for: [This will list all the different security roles that I have in the site]

    Role Required Visible
    Administrators (checkbox) (checkbox)
    Registered Users (checkbox) (checkbox)
    Subscribers (checkbox) (checkbox)
    Customers (checkbox) (checkbox)
    Suppliers (checkbox) (checkbox)

The "Required" and "Visible" checkboxes on the previous page (Manage Profile Properties) will be moved to this next page (Edit Profile Propert Definition).

This would mean that we:

  1. Extend the User Profile Properties Definition
  2. Extend the User Registration page, to display what we have configured in the "User Profile Properties". This will then continue to make use of the setting functions of DNN.

Thanks!

1.  YES - you create a new page on your site - and select this new page as the LOCATION of you REGO / USER PROFILE module.
Then you install  your CUSTOM module on this page.

2.  As for how you go about extending the module - that's a programming task.

You would first create a new MODULE
- I suggest a dynamic module would work here best. But compiled is possibly ok as well.

Then you need to copy all the code elements that the rego modules use into the new MODULE
And start hacking.
Alternatively - you may find it quicker and easier to code a new custom module from scratch.
- imho trying to sort thru how the objects all tie together and how the list controllers work in the
default module tends to take more time than its worth.

Hi Westa,

Thanks! And this is exactly what I was thinking as well.

This means, I'd be creating 3 new modules, and replacing 3 pages:

  1. Manage Profile Settings
  2. Edit Profile Property Definition
  3. Register

Where do I find these pages, and replace them?
