you can update the session timeout in the web.config file, see http://samples.gotdotnet.com/quickstart/aspplus/doc/stateoverview.aspx

Sandip:

I'm not sure if the link provided by Cathal is up to date (may be for ASP.Net 1.1), in any case, here is the link for ASP.Net 2.0: http://quickstarts.asp.net/QuickStartv20/aspnet/doc/applications/state.aspx.  I'm surprised it works actually, just go to www.gotdotnet.com

The part about modifying the session timeout in the Web.config is basically the same for both versions of the framerwork by the way.

Hi Carlos and all,

Can't we use the Host Settings > OtherSettings > Users Online Time (Minutes) setting in DNN to achieve the same thing?

Also I think the Admin > Site Settings > Advacnce Settings > Page Management > Login Page can be used to rediret the users upon a session timeout. Am I correct?

Uchitha.

Hi

I use session variables in my dotnetnuke modules.  All session variables are empty after about 30 min.  I need to extend it to about 2 Hrs. I changed possible settings in IIS and web.config.  But not working yet.

I tried Users Online Time (minutes) setting, but it only effect on Login timeout.

Please help
