  You can view the sl control at www.207vista.net (The Weather)

When I view the source on your page I still see:

<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">

Does that not matter?

I will try your suggestions tomorrow. Thanks for the help all of you. much appreciated.

arrgg

I followed Cathal's blog (http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/Blogs/tabid/825/EntryID/1226/Default.aspx) and added the code to my site at:

http://dnnsilverlight.adefwebserver.com/Default.aspx?tabid=65

This is Windows 2003 (IIS6) The site renders differently so I know I did the .xml file correctly it worked but the Silverlight still does not show up :(. I will try tomorrow on my Vista (II7) machine.

My bad!  I didn't realize that I changed the skin to one that wasn't xhtml 1.0 and it still works, which is even better!  It seems to be the mime/type that was causing the problem on IIS7.  If this is the only problem,  it means that we can develop SilverLight pages in VS2008 or Expression and drop the xap file into the DNN module view page as an <asp:SilverLight/> and we are done!!!  Let us know what the issues are with IIS6.

Hi. I have the same problem as you had. Can you please describe full solusion how to solve it? My very simple Silverlight Application works added to html page using object tag:

<object data="data:application/x-silverlight," type="application/x-silverlight-2-b1"

width="100%" height="100%">

<param name="source" value="SilverlightApplicationTest1.xap" />

<param name="onerror" value="onSilverlightError" />

<param name="background" value="white" />

<a href="http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=108182" style="text-decoration: none;">

<img src="http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=108181" alt="Get Microsoft Silverlight"

style="border-style: none" />

</a>

</object>

It didn't work invoked through http://localhost so i add .xap mime-type to IIS and it works now. After changing doctype in my default DDN Skin by adding DNN-Blue.doctype.xml file in _default\Skins\DNN-Blue directory - silverlight app still didn't show in DNN module. Thank you in advance.

Keith Monroe basically figured it out. He provided code that I was able to use and it now works on my Windows Vista WITHOUT altering the skin Doc type. You can download the module that works for me here:
