you can always download and install source version of the modules from the main download page or project microsite (see list on "Forge" page), modify and recompile. Be aware, that some modules are still in DNN3 format and require DNN3, VS2003 and ASP.Net 1.1 to compile.

I could't undestand the concrete actions how could i change and recompile concrete module and than deploy it to the dnn site without recompiling the whole dnn project site. After i downloaded the sorurce for sorce module (Store_02.01.00_Source.zip that Requires ASP.Net 2.0) there is only dll, ascx and cs files. How could I compile all this without project file and adjusted environment (Visual studio)?

Ok, i will try to as more clearly.

What should I do with a archive Store_02.01.00_Source.zip: install via web ( Admin -> Module definitions -> Install new module ) or just extract the archive to the store folder according specific steps?

Actually i installed the archive Store_02.01.00_Source.zip via web interface.

And have made changes in DotNetNuke.Store.WebControls and recompiled it. I have such text in Post Build Event:

copy "$(ProjectDir)*.ascx" "$(SolutionDir)Store_02.00.00_Install"
copy "$(ProjectDir)*.aspx" "$(SolutionDir)Store_02.00.00_Install"
copy "$(ProjectDir)App_LocalResources\*.ascx.resx" "$(SolutionDir)Store_02.00.00_Install"
copy “$(TargetPath)" "$(SolutionDir)Store_02.00.00_Install"

so i have to manually copy DotNetNuke.Modules.Store.WebControls.dll to root bin directory than it will work.

So I can't understand the right approach to developing module. Could somebody help me with that?
