That error is coming from SQL Server because it cannot authenticate the user to connect to the database. Since you don't say, I presume that the database you are trying to connect to is on a server separate from the server that is running IIS and DNN, is this correct??? You need to setup the login ID on SQL Server for the second database and adjust your web.config and/or your connect string accordingly. These are not issues specific to DNN but general ASP.Net/SQL Server concepts, you will find a lot of info in the Microsoft knowledge base for this.

And by the way, please do not use the SA account for DNN access, even with a password.
