The info in the post is rather old and will not help in getting Ajax RC1 working as most of the dll names and namespaces are different. Also the core dll's are now in the GAC and should not need to be copied locally to the bin directory. Correctly configured RC1 works with 4.3.7, but with the same mods 4.4.0 fails with the error as per the original post.

This works for me with RC1 - The dlls do not need to be in the GAC and in fact that is one issue I had problems with at first - copy the dlls to your bin directory for DNN and do the changes mentioned in the post referenced before (of course you need to change the namespaces)

is there a specific error you are getting? maybe then I can help you out a little more

Okay want to kow if anyone has run into this problem with 4.4.0 and AJAX RC1 -

Had a site up and working as a dev - created a new site (new install) got it up and running and went and modified the web.config - installed module - everything was fine

Went to use the module on a page (module is AJAXed - is that a word?) and get this new very strange error

Line: 765
Error: 'Sys.WebFoms.Res.PRM_ParserErrorDetails' is null or not an object

Anybody seen this one I couldn't find anything on Google at least not 'Sys.WebFoms.Res.PRM_ParserErrorDetails'

I was not able to get AJAX RC1 working with DNN 4.40 and had to fallback to DNN 4.37 and it works fine.

Sorry that I could not be of more help.

This is probably an incompatibility with compression issue.

The javascript library used by AJAX needs to be added to the <excludedPaths> section of compression.config.

Alternatively, remove or comment out the Compression module from the <httpModules> node in web.config.

4.4.1 will disable compression by default.
