Before I start I want to apologize for having to ask this question .  I recall seeing a post somewhere about doing this but I can't find it now.  I've been searching for the past day and a half. I've been through the current version of both the "Module Developer's Guide" and the "Module Definitions Enhancement" document -- I came up empty.

I've developed a new version of a module and have changed the files that make up said module.  When installing the new version I need to search for files that are no longer needed and delete them if they exist.

Can someone refresh my memory as to how this can be done.

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies!

Chuck

You could do this by implementing IUpgradable. Unfortunately there isn't a good way (unless it's in 4.4 and I haven't found it yet) to remove files using the DNN manifest.

I believe that in 4.4.0 you can use a similar process as the core uses. ie provide a file for the version you are installing that needs to delete files (eg 02.01.03.txt) that lists the files to be removed.

If my memory serves me, the latest version of Survey uses this approach, to delete the previous versions SqlDataprovider assembly.

Please check Vincenç last blog:

It is the only place I know where the correlation of x.x.x.txt and the sql files are discribed. It can save you hours!
