Simply Classified is a very simple yet configurable classifieds module.  This module allows registerd users on your site to post things they are selling or seeking into categories.  Other users can view by category, selling, or seeking, etc.  This module employs special permissions allowing you to designate roles or users to validate user posts.  You may also disable validation by granting the permission to all registered users.  In addition, you can easliy customize the list display to your liking, auto expire items after XX days, add/remove categories, and more...

The best part is that it's FREE!

We have not made the source code available yet, but if there is interest we would be willing to create a codeplex project and turn the project into a DotNetNuke Open Source Community project.

For more information or to see it in action visit: ComSite.org

Please feel free to post your comments on this thread.

I vote thumbs up for this with source code.  I would love to try my hand at adding a new view that displays X number of classifieds, sorta like a what's new in "x" categorie(s).

Thanks...

This looks a great module that I'm sure could be useful.  Please!! put the source on Codeplex, this would allow people to taylor it to suit specific needs and also I believe the more examples of modules with source code there is out there the better for the DNN community at large.  Don't forget, if you do put the code in codeplex, do it throught the DNN Forge. (I say this because I didn't)

Hi Jay.

I downloaded and installed your promising module, put all the settings like described on your page but when i click on Post New Item just nothing happens, allthough the mouse-cursor shows that it is over a link.

I installed it on my local test enviroment running Vista, SP1 and IE7. Popupblocker is switched off...

So, how to bring it to "life"?

Thanks in advance

Kai, in order not to derail the announcement thread I have created a support thread to help you with this issue.  Please use the support thread as I think we may have to go back and forth a bit to find out what's happening.
