Benoît ,

As much as I would like to make it easy on myself, I would be reluctant to make breaking changes for others when modifying the resource files seems straightforward. But I am only one opinion and agree that it is a good idea to get feedback from others -- I will start a new thread to see what others have to say.

Regarding changing the resource file for Gilles, I don't mind making changes but have two questions:

1. Can I use 02.01.46 as the base for changes? (I am not able to use release 02.01.47 because the store admin will not display correctly - Gilles is aware of the issue and said a fix is on the way).

2. How do I transmit the updated resources files?

Hi Gilles,

I just upgraded my install from the stable release of 2.01.36 to beta version 2.1.46 so that I could review the changes related to role expiration.  I must be missing something -- I see the role dropdown when adding a new product but do not see anywhere to add a role expiration.  Am I missing a setting somewhere that causes additional fields to show or am I just looking in the wrong place?  Thanks.

Changing names in the database can be a breaking change for those who wrote custom procedure, but changing names in the resources file is not a breaking change - just a change!

Anyway, changes can be unconfortable and people will appreciate if there is a debate - and hopefully a concensus, before any action is taken.

You might explain the idea behind your proposals: that new wording covers a wider range of use case than the current one, and that those who submit other terms should take this constraint into consideration.

We might pinpost the thread with your proposals and call for comments during a certain period of time. We will also tell people in advance what changes will make it into the 2011 releases, so they can prepare their alternate resource files if needed.

Hi Don,

The Store module use the settings defined in the role applied to a product. Tell me which DNN version you use, I will guide you to do it.

Gilles

We (team members) are Humans offering their knowledge, their work and their spare time FOR FREE to benefit the community. It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Hi Gilles,

I am using version 5.6.0 of both the professional and community DNN. I appreciate your help.
