Hi Shawn,

Again it depends of your needs, the Events module can be better to manage recurring events or seminars. I don't know which version you have tested, but it seems than the 06.00.00 have a lot of changes (please read this post for details) and two other update versions have been published (the last one is 06.00.02). I know than the Events module support 'Enrollment' and payment via PayPal but never used it, please ask in the Events forum.

Of course you can use the Store module to sell seminars, but in this case you should activate the 'Inventory Management' in the Store Admin module module because I guess the room is not extensible! :-) This will allow you to hide products when the stock quantity is 0 and/or to avoid to sell an unavailable product.

It would be so particularly appreciated that your messages begin with "Hello" and end with "Thank you" or any other form of politeness. Ask yourself what your reaction would be, if you were approached by me (a total stranger) on the street to ask you something without saying "Hello" nor "Thank you"? After several years of services dedicated to the community, I begin to be tired to read requests without any form of politeness.

Gilles,

I forgot to respond importantly to your comment in prior message that I should check "Allow Virtual Products" in the Store Admin module. This is the problem! While I originally noted the existence of that field, I can no longer find it. For example, here are the fields in the Store Admin (Store Info section):

Store Name:
SEO Feature:
Description:
Keywords:
Store Email:
Currency Symbol:
Portal Templates:
Style Sheet:
Store Page:
Store Account Page:
Authorize Cancel:
Inventory Management:
Manage Orders:
Manage Catalog:
Secure Cookie:
Checkout Mode:
Impersonated Account:
Address Provider:
Tax Provider:
Shipping Provider:
Payment Gateway:
Use PayPal Sandbox:
PayPal ID:
Secure ID:
PayPal Verification URL:
PayPal Payment URL:
PayPal Language:
Charset:
PayPal button URL:
Currency:
Surcharge (Percent):
Surcharge (Fixed):

I had a theory that perhaps the option is automatically hidden (except upon initial installation?) because I did not previously enable public registration on this portal (i.e. Admin > Site Settings). Perhaps it made sense that if the portal doesn't allow public registration, then virtual products aren't supported. But now I have enabled public registration and I still do not find virtual product capabilities. I am 100% confident that it existed in the original installation, because I noticed that it is not defined in the installation and setup documentation guide, even though I found it on screen.

PS regarding Events module v6.0, I seem to recall that it is only supported for DNN v6+. Due to concerns with using skins that I have modified to support WCAG and XHTML, I haven't taken the plunge into DNN v6.

Best,

Shawn

Hi Shawn,

Select 'Registration Required' in the 'Checkout Mode' setting of the Store Admin module. This mode is required to allow virtual products because the module have to control who try to download. Several settings in the Store Admin and fields in the product edit form are displayed only if some conditions are verified.
