I took a similar position at first, but now have been muted...ever since doing exactly what everyone else in the thread mentioned; I changed hosts from GoDaddy to Webhost4Life to now a third hosting company; I installed John's PageBlaster module; and I now have my site pinged every 15 minutes, ensuring that users are not sitting there looking at a blank screen for 90 seconds during recompilation resulting from the app shutting down due to inactivity; I truncate my logs, clean out the events, empty the recycle bin, etc, etc, etc...and no longer whine about performance.  :)

There is an oft-cited Australian Rules Rugby page that folks say receives a million hits on a good weekend; granted, they have some fancy server configurations and the like, but the performance of that and many other DNN sites is impressive for all the stuff taking place behind the scenes. I'll take a nominal performance hit over static html pages anyday, given the horsepower of the platform...and write it off to opportunity costs.

Salmeirao:

Seems like both of your sites are on a shared server with at least 140 other sites, notice that I say "at least" because those 140 other sites (and yours) share the address 69.20.101.123.  If the server has other addresses defined there could be even more.  See these links for yourself: http://whois.domaintools.com/lojadenegocios.com and http://whois.domaintools.com/portalwebmarketing.com.  One good thing at least is that both of your sites seem to be doing HTTP compression (per www.port80software.com).  And if even with HTTP compression the performance seems slow, then it is due to congestion on the server and/or the network line going to your ISP.

You cannot judge or even talk about DNN performance optimization when you are on a shared server environment competing with resources with possibly hundreds of other servers.  If you want to get the best possible performance from DNN you need to get a dedicated server.  I can tell you that DNN performs very well when you provide it with a good running environment.

Carlos,

Thanks and don't worry, because I love DNN, I think it will be good to do a ranking of all DNN hosting, because I think that 140 computes is not the problem, but the hardware of www.re-invent.com.

I will call them and send these notes.

The problem is not the cost, because I am a good snowcovered client :)

I installed it and DNN had "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error." in RSS modules (from Orizonti).

My hosting is "www-re-invent.com", until 2 months a go it was a good hosting, but I don't know if the problem is host or DNN. I installed in my computer and I have the same problem.
