I've been using IXWebHosting and I am happy with the prices and performance.

Jeff,

You are 100% correct, however, there are many of us that are fine on the cheaper shared plans as the sites we are hosting are not all that entensive.  (However, then at times we have to look at moving eventually....)

Hi, Mitch,

Could you tell me how many DNN installation & parent/child sites can be hosted in the 3Essentials pro plan.

I see it said 4 domain alias, but support 5 MS DBs...Does that mean only four of five installation can have their own domain and one of them need to be the sub-domain of others?

Could you help about my question...Thank you~~~

Eric,

I know you have most likely moved on....but I thought I would answer this anyway.

If it supports 4 aliases you could do one parent install with 4 other parent portals, child sites would be unlimited.

You can also setup different sub domains if you needed to and put dnn installs there you would be limited only by DB size and the number of DB's in reality.

I know this is an old thread, but I was in the position of having to choose a DNN host a few months back and bookmarked this page. I returned now and thought I'd share my experience...

I choose a dedicated server package at PowerDNN @ $180/month.

I continue to be blown away by the quality of service I am getting from them. I don't know whether it's because I'm in Sydney and they're in the USA that when I have problems, there's less demand on their call centre. Whatever. I send them an email or jump on the live chat and my problem is fixed straightaway - literally in minutes.

When I first joined I transferred 8 sites that were child portals of a single DNN installation and they split them up into 8 separate DNN installations with 8 separate databases. Absolutely no fuss at all - took a couple of hours.

They have a really good system for cloning and updatating DNN installations. I have no idea how their speed compares - I imagine it is good because they seem such a professional organisation, but honestly, their service is just 100% pleasure.

Couldn't recommend them more highly.
