DNN

I"m a newbie - need some help. How easy is it to learn DNN. I am a moderately talented web builder (front end) but am unsure about how to use this one. I'm here because I want to build a site directory - something I've never built before and was told this was a good open-source software to use to do what I want.

Let me know what you think.

If DNN is the correct choice, depends on your need. There are other CMS which are easier to install and to get started, but if you have special requirements, DNN beats most of them due to modularity, which allows extending by numerous moduls, flexible design and customizing.

I'm looking for modularity to build interactive forums. Would this still work? And, where do I begin to learn the program?

do you mean forums or forms?

I suspect you meant forms. You might check out the dnn marketplace or snowcovered, there are a lot of forms modules out there.

Actually I meant forum - I want to build a site where people can type in forum related material. You know, "interactive." It looks like I can do this, but I haven't started yet as I'm still at the beginning stage. When I download the software to begin building, do I have to upload it to an active host to begin building or can I build it, then upload it and publish it?
