Yes, I get exactly the same error. Any idea why this is happening? I used the install version with all the defaults.

4.7 works just fine on the same IIS and SQL without any issues?

Do we know whom should we be raising this issue to? I think something is wrong with Install version.

I got this error yesterday and I did two things that might have fixed the issue.

1. Gave aspnet or network service permissions to my dnn files

2. Restarted IIS and deleted the Temporary ASP.NET files: c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files\

Once I hit my server again it worked fine.

I am also getting this error. Deleting .net temp files and restarting IIS did not resolve it.  New install. Full permissions for network service are granted to the website folder.  All modules were selected for install during setup.  SQL 2005 / Windows Server 2003 standard.  sa user account is being used for connection string.

I got the same error when trying to run DNN 4.8. The installer wizard went through without any errors. Server: Windows 2003 Enterprise Server. "Network Service" user has "Modify" permission to the DNN folder and subfolders.

I tried the same installer in Vista Ultimate dev machine and the default DNN host portal worked.
