I noticed a huge increase in loading time and decrease in perfomance when I went to a fresh install of 4.8 hosted at ihostasp.net. I only have the bare minimum of modules installed to start out, since I was startng from scratch. Sorry, I don't have any database or server metrics for you. My previous version for comparison was 4.3.5. I was always very happy with ihostasp.net, but this version seems to have really bogged them down. For the first time, I am running keepalive.aspx from my workstation to help out. Just an observation.

I've got a site on ihostasp that is now crawling back. Most admin functions actually timeout. It's been running on 4.8.0 for a few days and was working ok, though not as fast as I expected. Yesterday and today have just been rediculous. I can't login 9 times out of 10 as the page just times out. The error message is database timeout related.

I'm losing patience now, and my support ticket remains unanswered.

I'm just copying the site down to my local machine to install it there and do some testing.

Hi All,

Had similar issues in an intranet - 4.7+ AD Authentication - found that DNNwas authenticating every module and tab everytime for a user.  Found it was improved by setting Host Settings -> Advanced Settings -> Performance Settings -> Performance Settings to "Light Caching" and Authenticated Cacheability to "Public"

However the lag at initial site load is still bl**dy awful - 5-7 seconds (down from 20+)

I am having the same issue..... Does anyone know if this has been addressed with the release of 4.8.1?
