This is an AspDotNetStoreFront related question:

I've been hesitating as to which version I should use for my ecommerce site: aspdotnetstorefront ML or ML/DNN. I do like some features dnn has to offer and originally I was thinking about using ML/DNN... but after some research I noticed that ML based sites seem to give a better performance compared to ML/DNN based sites.

I would rather sacrifice the dnn features in order to get a better performance. But if it does not make much difference regarding the performance between these two I'd like to use ML/DNN version.

I really need some help to make the decision. Any input is appreciated!

I have done some extensive testing and reviewing of the ASPDNSF ML/DNN version and I can say that after the last two upgrades it is a very nice e-commerce app.  I have never actually noticed any sort fo degragated performance in DNN with the storefront installed. The module itself is actually a collection of modules so I would recommend only using the functionality you need.  There is better documentation out there for the ML version because there are a lot more people out there with experience using it.  I have been very impressed with the packaged documentation that comes with the ML/DNN version.  If you like the features DNN offers I would not worry about performance, especially if you are on a host that knows how to host DNN sites.  I wouldn't want to run ASPDNSF on a server with 100's of other sites.  I have been testing it in our environment at PowerDNN because we are a Prefered AspDotNukeStoreFront Hosting Partner so I am constantly testing our system for performance and compatibility.  I hope my response was of some assistance.

What did you end up doing odove? I'm kind of in the same situation where I'm comparing the two versions (ML vs ML/Dnn). The  product comparison chart has a lot of holes for the DNN version.  How is the support and DNN updates. What I'm really afraid of is spending all that dough and having the company treating the module like a secondary product.

Thanks to anyone who can provide any help!!!!

I'm using ML/DNN right now.  If you are interested in a complete solution you might want to go with ML.  The ML/DNN version has short comings, for example PayPal does not work with ML/DNN.

I'm also struggling to get Fedex Real Time shipping functional.  I haven't been pleased with the support so far.  The answers I get are not solutions to my questions, but usually other questions or things to try.

It's been a struggle all along.

I'm not affiliated with any ecommerce apps - but I'd just like to add a small note to this thread - not specifically in reply to any particular post.

All of the full featured e-commerce packages for DNN are very complicated by design and nature.  The endless flexibility makes them difficult to understand without a lot of time and energy.   I have seen and heard a lot of people grumble about getting different e-commerce apps to operating stage.  All I would say is that you can't get a full-featured e-commerce store running in an afternoon, and that most of the DNN e-commerce modules tend to take a while to set up and configure.

What I am trying to say is this : e-commerce with integrated payment providers and real time shipping calculations, wish lists, secure certs, configurable products and order tracking is difficult to setup and takes time, no matter what the product.
