Unfortunately, the first reply I got (from Mitch Sellers) is the path I'm going to take.
The modules which were suggested in the later replies just don't work out for me, so I'll be coding this one myself.
If I get it working, I will share it with the community.

Mitch, Thanks for Help.  I can see that I just need to call the addAnnouncement stored procedure with the contents from a text box (title) and a memo (body).  It does seem pretty easy, but before I can start, I have to set up a DNN Development machine since my employer owns my current one and this is most definitely not company related work.  I look forward to studying your website for tips and clues.

Mike, Thanks for the Help.  Efficion does look to be DOA which is a shame since their product does EXACTLY what I want to do.  But version 3.3 is the last version which went to beta and that was back in 2006.  I fear that I wouldn't be able to make it work with DNN 4, so I'm not going to spend time trying.  Ventrian looks good and is affordable, but I couldn't find any mention of seperate modules posting to a consolidated module.  It's categories, approval and syndication features definitely contribute to where I'm going, but first I need to be able to submit articles from multiple (differently secured) locations on the portal.  I'm going to drop the author a line concerning my needs.  His product seems to be alive and growing and so maybe he would be willing to add my features to the next release.

Sebastian, Thanks for the Help.  Magic news is almost perfect for my needs, but it can only get content from one other module.  (the setup screen shows only one field which is used by the receiving/consolidating module to identify the module from which it should PULL content).  I either need the inter-module link to be on the sending side such that each sending module can identify the same receiving module to which it will PUSH content or I need multiple inter-module links on the receiving side like those found in the Events module. 

Taomuon, Thanks for the Help.  I'm already using the DNN event module on these pages for exactly the desired effect.  A receiving Event module on my home page is consolidating the individual contributions which each department manager make on an event module on their own department specific page.  What I am seeking is an announcements or articles type module which will do for non-dated articles (with text and pictures) what the events module does for dated activities.  

Thank you all for your help.  DNN is an amazing product, probably the best tool I have ever worked with; but it is nothing compared to its supporting community.  A 30-year old copy of VisaCalc would still be useful if it had people like you standing behind it.
