How relevent will the content in the currently published books be in relation to DNN 5?

Also, will the forthcoming Module development book by Shaun Walker and Chris Paterra have information of the new DNN 5 installer/packaging features?

The currently published books are barely relevant to 4.5.  None of the books has any sustained life span, DNN has too many changes in too many releases.  The simple site developed in the book doesn't match the default anymore, because now the DNN Menu is standard, the Admin and Host interfaces have changed, the Documents module has been superseded by the Repository module...  You get the picture.  Don't look for a relevant DNN book for Cambrian until at least  2Q 2009, and expect current books to be really out of date before then.

I would hazard a guess that the module development book that is due out later this year will not directly include information on DNN 5.0 simply because not all of the functionality of 5.0 and changes provided by it will be available for the authors to write about....but it will say that I'm pretty sure that it will include updated module development information discussing all current interfaces and best practices.

That's really what I am after with the module development book. Best practices e.g. packaging, localisation etc..

Is this information available online?

Various pieces of this are available online.  I have some tutorials on my site, Michael Washington has some on his, Charles Nurse has some in his blog....

A lot of it is out there, but it is very scattered and hard to find, at least all of it at once, specific topics aer easy to find though..
