If your site is "ready" and "good to go", AND it is already hosted on your GoDaddy account, then I am afraid that I do not understand why you cannot "go live".

If your site is in a virtual directory and expect for your site to be viewed when the visitor goes directly to your domain name, then all you might need to "go live" is a redirect from the root of your site.  This can be done a variety of ways.  Probably the best way is to use an ASP or ASPX page on the root of your site and redirect the visitor like so:

In Default.asp file on your web site:

Response.Redirect("virtualdirectoryname/Default.aspx")

Most likely, you are live.  What problems are you having that make you think you aren't?

well, i am brand new to DNN. My original site was in dreamweaver and after building it on my computer, i just copied the files over to the godaddy FTP account and it was live.

My dnn site address is <site.com>/dotnetnuke. I have created an alias already. so how do i publish my site and get rid of my old one now? I know the answer is probably very obvious, but i really don't know enough about the software yet to figure it out. do i log into my godaddy account and publish my site from there or can i do it when i'm in the dotnetnuke version? what menu button do i hit to publish my site? i have created the aliases for my site, i just need to publish it now.

please help. thanks.

Can you access to your site using www.site.com/[dnn] ?
If yes, make sure to do a redirect to make it "live"
