Okay As Far as I can see dotnetnuke is incompatible with version 3.5 of web.extensions

3.5 was in GAC and not in the bin folder however Version 1.0.61025 is if I delete it dnn falls over with the following error:

Server Error in '/ZetalDev' Application.

Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Extensions, Version=1.0.61025.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Thank you for all you help on this it really is causing me somthing of a head ache as I was looking forward to using teleriks new control library (prometheus) but this has a direct dependancy on 3.5

To further qualify that I alos altered the reference in web.config to point to the 3.5 version

Thanks

John

The version of ajax that runs depends on the web.config settings. AJAX requires full trust, so you can use the 1.0 version in the bin folder with the 1.0.61025.0 setting in web.config. If you're not running in full trust, you need to install 1.0.61025.0 so it's in the GAC (http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2007/01/23/asp-net-ajax-1-0-released.aspx).

Alternatively, you can use the .net 3.5 version (updating your web.config accordingly - note:you need to update all the 1.0.61025.0 settings in web.config as you cannot mix both versions).

I have both versions running under vista ultimate (32 bit) so I know they both work. I recommend you read http://www.adefwebserver.com/DotNetNukeHELP/DNN4_DevelopmentEnvironment/DNNDevelopmentWindowsVista.htm to ensure you've made all the necessary steps.

I can finally continue down the dev route I was going.

Thanks once again
