So?  All that tells me is that the community is still active and trying to help make this a better project.  I'd be lying if I claimed to ever release a piece of software that was free of bugs (whether intentionally or otherwise; have to draw the line somewhere and put fixes off to another release).  I applaud all the efforts of the team and say "keep it up!".

Yes. I am in the process of publishing a book (see http://yalaworld.net/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx) which includes more than a few screenshots from DotNetNuke and I view such an upgrade to the look and feel with mixed emotions. Nevertheless I set about redoing my 194 screenshots, only to discover that the new default skin fails on complex screens, like Admin>Security.

Don't get me wrong, I do think the new skin is great and I look forward to seeing it sorted in 4.9.1.

Geoffrey

Qualification to the above...

I was getting the problems when upgrading from dnn 4.8.4. On a clean install of 4.9.0, the new skin seems to work fine.

4.9.1 is currently only a placeholder, it may never graduate to being a release if the issues are not deemed serious enough (i.e. showstopper or a few critical items). In all likelyhood as 5.0 is hopefully just a few weeks away, those issues will be moved to 5.0, and the 4.9.1 references removed (I believe this may already be underway)

While we're at it (DNN 5.0 that is) I wonder where can I find some documentation for 5.0

It is kind of a mystery to me and I really don't know what to expect. For guys like me, who install DNN regularly in clients sites it is a crucial issue to keep up with the technology.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that documentation is not the most important issue when developing such a major release, but still it is a problem.
