Does anyone know how to redirect a user back to the home page after the users online time expires?

The only way I could think of to do that would be to have the home page the only one that had no restricted rolls (Everyone could see it) and all the other pages on your site to require some type of roll to be able to view them. (No one that wasn't registered could see them).

I'm not sure right off the top of my head any other way to do it but I'll bet there are others here that will know.

Cheers,

Paul Davis

Maybe I didn't make my question clear. I already have my website setup like you have stated. What I want to know is that when you are logged in and are idle for more than 20 minutes or what ever time you have set, you get logged out, but you don't know it until you try and do something, then you get pushed to the login page to login again. I would like my site to be smart enough to redirect the user back to the home page when they get logged off, so that they know, by looking, that they are logged out automatically. Does this make sense?

Thanks,
Chris

No you were clear. I'm just not sure really how to do it easily.  If the user was on a page and belonged to a roll that could only see that page you could set a page refresh time of a couple minutes.  If the session logged the user out the next time the page did an auto refresh the only option for the site would be to send the user back to the home page.

No, I don't want to refresh the page automatically. That would not work with my current modules I have built.
On asp.net under control gallery there is an InActiveUserModule control that uses http runtime that somehow runs on the server and sends something to the pages of inactive users to redirect back to a logout page. Does someone have any information on where to look for information on http runtime that would help get me started in the right direction to build something like that for dnn?
