Sebastian - There is a difference between my opinion as a DNN user and my statements as a member of management.  If I am speaking for the project or for management on a topic then I post it here on DotNetNuke.com.  If I am speaking on my personal opinion then I post on my blog.  As you can see from my blog here on DotNetNuke, I still maintain my blog.  I can name plenty of examples where members of management will maintain separate blogs including at companies like Microsoft, DevExpress and many others.  We have never demanded that core team members or management team blog or post solely on DotNetNuke.com. We leave it to their discretion as to what information is appropriate for posting on DotNetNuke.

I recommend that people use the services @ http://www.dotnetnukeblogs.com/ to subscribe to aggregated blog posts , they do a good job of covering many dotnetnuke related blogs.

oops, sorry, Joe - obviously I misunderstood usage of DotNetNuke blogs and will stand away from posting personal points of view in mine here as well.

People, who are interested, might find my other blogs at www.dnn-usergroup.de and www.deutschnetnuke.de (German only).

Cheers from Germany,

Jan - As we only recommend users use the DotNetNuke downloads page there is no reason to "post" a fact that is plainly obvious to anyone downloading the app.  People who choose to link directly to SourceForge or CodePlex may find themselves out of sync if we choose to move repositories.  This is a minor inconvenience at worst.  Thousands of users seem to have downloaded the app just fine prior to my blog post.  In fact, this is not even the first forum post where the topic has been discussed.  As I am not responsible for the final decision or execution of the migration to CodePlex I am not the one to make the official post about it.  That post is in the works and is waiting for a few last migration items to be completed.  Because of that, I created a blog post to answer a few specific questions that were asked and to provide MY PERSONAL perspective on the topic.  Yes.  I do have an opinion which may not always be 100% in line with everyone else at DNN Corp, and thus I chose not to use an official communication channel to express my views.  Had I chosen not to make a blog post out of it and instead just created a forum post, no one would have said a word.

What I don't understand is why there is all this hostility because of where I choose to post a blog?  I post lots of information useful to the community, as do hundreds of DotNetNuke bloggers.  I do not lose my rights to a personal opinion because I am a core team member or because I work for DNN Corp.
