Sebastian,

I do not see any need to bash people at all. I just tryed to get more focus on Quality in this thread. There is only one person that bashed people in this tread.

If you dont agree with a persons views its rather low to try to discredit this person in public. Its just my opinion, evidently you have an other opinion.

Jan

How can you discredit or bash a "person" who chooses to remain anonymous, yet is regularly discrediting everybody and anything on regular basis via these forums? Yet hardly lifts a finger himself.

At least you choose to reveal who you are Jan, so I respect your views.

If Brian chooses to reveal who he is by posting evidence of who he is, or maybe even show a single one of his websites, then maybe you will have a point. Then I will be discrediting a "person".

The real truth is he protects himself by hiding in anonymity which allows him to say pretty much anything to gain effect and walk away without consequences.  It's not just this thread he's posting on, it's pretty much every thread that he can find an angle to needle into. NB he never seems to want to start his own thread, he just posts at the end of others for maximum effect, generally when we are only trying to help.

It is also clear he doesn't appreciate what open source is about - just an I'll have mine, you will have yours - sort of attitude. Also he states he is a "senior software developer" - sorry but all past evidence shows that this does not compute. Also I would not be surprised if he has another user account in these forums (I could be wrong, but I have an idea as to what this user account may be).

All the evidence right now shows that he has an agenda.... if posting this sort of stuff discredits me as a person, at least I deserve my reputation and the consequences, I'm happy to get what I deserve. Brian however hides away somewhere in Texas (perhaps) so really I'm just posting about an entity that can start another user account tomorrow.

I apologise for my attitude but this has been building up for some time. Occasionally I have a right to my opinion as well. Enough... I'll get back to doing what I do best and that is helping people and contributing towards this project (like a lot of people do here who deserve a lot of credit, not just members of the team).

Cheers...

I am greatful for DNN 5.1.0.  I really have not run into all that much problems with the software.  I did try to help with the 5.1 beta and everyone was very helpful. I don't run any third party modules.  I try to keep the site simple.  So, maybe I am just lucky.  When I have problems, I run the VS debugger.  I assumed since the software is open source, if I have a problem, I should fix it and not bash the people who can help me.  If I was paying for support or was a DNN partner, then I would feel I had the right to complain.

My site a a private high school and the software has let us build our own web site and share the responsiblity of updating it with many non technical internal people.  We struggle every year to pay our bills and DNN is a life saver.

Thanks DNN team!

I'm filing a complaint against you for your accusation that I have another account on here.   And for just being idiotic.  Why would I if I'm not afraid to say anything under this username?   That doesn't compute.    I edited out my personal info.. don't need a stalker.   I show a website, you get my business, you research..    then you become more obsesses with me.   I don't need it.    There is no requirement to put up a validated bio...   good grief, chill.   I think you have another username..  one where you bash dnn because you don't get any credit for your hard work.    Interesting...

Laughable trolling response. Invent mud in the hope it will stick and supply fresh amo to sling.
Before I even consider a serious reply and go around full circle I'm locking this thread.

5.1.1 will be out in the next few weeks.
