 Hi Stefan

You may well be right - my point, getting back to hosting is though that its nearly always preferable to get billed in the currency of the country you work in.

BTW: Thank you for your work on form and list. The new xslt system is fantastic.

Hi Rob

3Essentials support is actually 24 hours, and not 24 hours on the paperwork :)

I'm based in the UK and dollars are good let me assure you :). I'm sure there are also plenty of other eligible hosting providers out there - please don't take this a sole recommendation.

FYI... PowerDNN is coming to the UK.  :-)  We've already got a datacenter and we're in the process of provisioning gear.

Thanks everyone for your ideas, there is a lot of bad reviews of there but it's hard to find recommendations (that arent from  the company itself)!

I'll take a look at the hosters suggested

Hi Ian,

I've just been having a discussion with RedFoxHosting.

From what I've heard so far, I'm not happy about how they back up the SQL Server database.  AIUI they take a nightly file image of the disk, but do not use a SQL Server aware backup program.  I'm concerned that this may mean that any restored database could be unusable.  It's certainly not a SQL Server supported scenario.

In addition they don't use the transaction logs and they don't separate the TL from the main database.  That means a disk failure has a near 100% chance of destroying both DB and TL in one go.  If the restored DB is no use then you are kinda stuffed.

Best wishes,
- Richard
