Jared,

I was with Webhost4life about 2 years ago.  Frankly, they never measured up to our expectations.  In my opinion they are inexpensive, but it shows. We switched to PowerDNN using their middle tier program where you get 2 installations per your subscriptions.  While no hosting company is perfect, they are the closest to it that we have found.  We have been running DNN since 2.0 and have migrated through 4 hosting companies and are very happy with PowerDNN.

Thanks for the inputs so far. There has to be a lot of unhappy folks. I can't imagine why webhost4life wouldn't pay for some extreme help to save their customer base. I'm certainly looking around. It looks like 3essentials would be a good move if they had a closer fit for the number of sites I'm running (qty 4). It also sounds like their control panel is not as capable (no customer backup utility?) as webhost4life, but their support might make up for it.

It would be good to hear from some folks who were with webhost4life (preferably a year or more) and have not found a good replacement.

I meant "...and have now found a good replacement."

I have never heard of cancellation fee to cancel a hosting account. What are they... a mobile phone service provider!?

When a company moves to a new platform, they do it in small stages.. Like one customer at a time. It seems they are doing it in a big wave.

Also what is the new platform.. a new Windows server version?

I had wh2l for years, and even got my employer to sign up our corporate hosting account with them. However we (and I) have had VERY poor tech support with them over the last few months. I gave up and moved my personal stuff to winhost.com and have been very pleased with the speed of their servers though I do get a little less storage space.
