I tried using the zip file of the starter Kit to create a local copy and there are files missing.  I intalled it mannually and everything looked good until I tried to login and I got a error related to the default skin trying to register something that was already registered.

From the posting on the download it sounds like you cannot upgrade to 5.4.0 without breaking your site and I cannot even get a local copy loading and working correctly.  Has any one else had these errors?  Has anyone else completed a load of the 5.4.0?

Thanks for the update.  I did not know it was a known issue.  Where should I look in the future to find out about the known issues becasue I did not find this on the download page  (although I could have missed it). Knowing where to look for these in the future will save me many valuable hours :)

Right now the download page lists 5.4.0 as a stable release.  Maybe I don't understand that rating because from the posting related to it breaking web sites on upgrade and the issues with the starter kit it does not feel very stable to me.  Does stable mean it can be used in production? I know one poster said he never puts a x.x0 or x.x.1 in production. This is sounding more and more like a very sound policy.

Also you made reference to 5.4.1 coming our soon - is that to be expceted MId-may or do you think sooner.

Thank you in advance for helping me understand these issues.

Judy
