John,

Sorry, I only came up with the fix for this after running into the issue myself, don't know why it happens.

Rick.

Unfortunately, setting the Registration Page to "<None Specified>" made no difference in my case. I upgraded to 5.4.2 and my Register links, both in the Skin and from the Login page started redirecting to the home page. Nothing I have done has made any difference.

On an older installation of DNN, I was able to enter the url, ~/register.aspx, to get to the Registration page; this no longer works, instead I am redirected to the home page. It is as if DNN 5.4.2 no longer recognizes that the page "register.aspx" exists. The only way I am able to get to the Registration page is by adding the querystring "ctl=register" to the end of a url, as in ~/default.aspx?ctl=register. That url leads to the Registration page, but I can't tell my site visitors to tack on a querystring if they want to register. DNN must get this issue resolved! I have posted on three different forum topics now--all having to do with this issue, and so far none of the DNN core people have responded to any of them.

Please help!

Okay. My Register links are working now...

I had somewhat of a workaround-epiphany. Given that the url, "~/register.aspx" was being treated as a missing page but that at the same time I was able to use the "ctl=register" querystring to manually navigate to the Registration page (i.e.: "~/default.aspx?ctl=register"), I tried setting up a urlmapping tag in the site's web.config page within the system.web section:
<urlMappings enabled="true">
      <add url="~/register.aspx" mappedUrl="~/default.aspx?ctl=register" />
</urlMappings>
This causes the "missing page" register.aspx (which is what the Register links seem to point to) to redirect to a url that leads to the Register page, and has allowed the Register buttons in the Skin and on the Login page to work. It does not fix the underlying problem, but at least folks can now register on my site.

If anyone comes up with an actual fix to the initial problem, I would love to hear it!

Hi, I solved my problem. My site uses a lot of languages, and I didn´t recognized that the "Admin -> SiteSettings" are language dependent configurable. So I had to change the "Registration Page" setting for every language to . Regards, Stefan.

Hi STS,
Could you explain to me how to change the "Registration Page" setting for every language? Everytime that I switch the language from English to Spanish, the register link does not work. It is redirecting me to the home page.

Thank you for your help
