Slightly surprised by this as I did not think the blog module was core.

Did you notice that Antonio who is (or was) a contributor to the blog module *did* post in the thread you referenced saying that he had downloaded the code and it built clean?

I completely agree with Gwyn on this. It's strange to notice some very very obvious bugs (that really CAN'T not have been noticed before publishing), even on DNN's own website.

An example of that is the forum's search function, that would come up with a simple 404-error when there's paged results and you want to switch between pages.. Some months ago I opened a topic on that, in this same subforum, but never got even a single reply, although the problem seems to have been solved in the meantime (by coïncidence? :P)..

And if support means getting the advice to 'build something yourself'; isn't one of the most, if not the most, important purposes of a CMS with it's core modules to NOT having to build stuff yourself (just configuring it)? And what kind of software developer is it that will give it's users the advice to just search for another module, if there are bugs? That's just like giving your users -and thus potential customers for the commercial editions- the finger.. I really hope that's not the DNN team's intention.

I just looked in a brand new install of 6.0.1.

No Forum module, no wiki module.

I get it that you are upset, even angry, but it's not fair to take it out on the core devs when the modules you are cross about are NOT core.

Maybe one who is not the author of the code you are complaining about and is doing his best to help you.

Why are you trying to compile the "Install" version?

If you want to compile, you need the source version, which opens and compiles just fine.

I am sensing a little operator error here...  ;)

I compile the install version and source version without any issue. I use the install version when working on modules. Compile the source version when I need to make changes to the core, or if I need to debug the core( I try to stay away from those changes :-)) Either way, thanks to the DNN team for their hard work, I for one appreciate all their hard work! I use DNN becuase it is the BEST CMS out there!

Thank you,
