I assume you are referring to the new Documents Module features. Correct? I was interested in those also. I was about to just upgrade my 4.03 version to 4.3. I think I’ll hold off.

Actually I'm talking about the new feature in File Manager (and a new HTTP provider) that allows a "folder" and it's files to be completely stored in the Database.  There is nothing stored on the actual file system.

The new secure storage enhancement requires a special treatment how to create download links for the files. The new functions are therefore disabled by default. Only a few modules support this new feature, otherwise the new secure folders don't show up inside url control.

UDT3.3.0 introduces a new DataType Download which knows how do deal with the new stuff.

Ok, I tried all this in a new DNN 3.3 install all the problems went away except for the "Secured - Database" folder not showing up in the URLControls.  I tried a UDT "Download" field and low-and-behold the DB folder shows up.  So all is working as expected (expected by the developers at least) for DNN 3.3, but 4.3 still has problems.  I tried all the modules where I could find a "link" and the only one that seems to be updated is the UDT module.  Interestingly a "Secured - File System" folder works just fine everywhere (in 3.3) and the little lock icon even shows up when I picked the folder.  So it seems it's only the DB based folders that need the special handling.  Any idea when the Links, Announcements and FTBHTMLProvider will be supporting the DB based folders?  Also, is there a way to "switch" a folder between the different types or is it a create-only thing?

The issue with the URL Control not showing the folders has been logged and fixed.  Note: if you access it as host it works.

I am sure, they will be updated soon.

no, delete the folder and re-create it.
