Hey Joe,
Thanks a lot for the reply.

You've actually made a pretty common mistake in your calculation in terms of how speed works.  I explain this to people pretty often so don't feel bad about it.

Which is faster: Two trucks travelling at 60mph or four trucks travelling at 60mph?

It is a trick question:  They're both the same speed, however, with four trucks you can haul twice as much stuff in the same amount of time.

Now, another question:
Which is faster:  Two trucks travelling at 60mph or two trucks travelling at 120mph?

It is not the number of cores that matter, it is the speed of the cores.

The reason that I point this out is because a standard DotNetNuke website is only capable of leveraging a single core at a time - the reason that you want two cores is so that you can have one core for DNN and one core for SQL.  For a single site, adding additional cores beyond two will not make it faster(there are a few exceptions to this), it just allows you to host more websites (even this only matters if the websites are busy).

We size servers for people day in and day out and I'm positive that what we have for you will be more than enough.

To make extra, extra sure, would you go to this url:

And fill out the analyzer?  Shoot me an email (Tony.Valenti@PowerDNN.com) once you have and I'll review and get back to you.
