Please vote:   http://www.dnnsoftware.com/voice/cid/...

Although I believe it wont matter because DNNSoftware does not care and will never upgrade these forums to ActiveForums as per the initial promise to the ActiveModules Community and DNN Community. At least they will have to come out and tell us to buzz off in a polite way...like tell us forums are past or move forward etc.

Thanks.

unfortunately I run out of votes due to counting issues in the module - I can't even submit new ideas :(

Rodney, it is hard for me to disagree.
But if customers are paying so much money for these modules, it can't be less than optimal ;)

The problem Sebastian has is isolated to this site.  This site isn't running the latest version of Evoq Social and also suffers from issues related to data migration.  While I realize this is an issue for you, Sebastian, I don't have the ability to fix it and those that do are already aware of you concern.

The design we chose for the Ideas module is a proven method in making sure that the best feedback and ideas always rise to the top.  Think about it in the form of currency.  We give you $25 to spend how ever you like.  If you spend your 25 votes on 5 ideas and you immediately find yourself wanting to vote more, then maybe you need reconsider how you spent your votes.  We also have an unlimited refund policy.  This means you can take away your votes at anytime.  With this model, it becomes much more difficult to game the system.   Ideation models that focus on unlimited voting typically have unfocused results.  For example, in the unlimited voting model, someone can create an idea and then market it through social channels.  This idea will gain traction based upon the author's popularity, not the importance.  This is due to the fact that votes don't have a price.  In our model, votes have a price and people must select what is important to them properly.  We are already seeing some of our Evoq Social customers have great success with this model.  Another important aspect to this model is making sure that it is managed properly.  This is something that we are working to improve ourselves.  Managing ideas properly involves rejecting, scheduling and delivering ideas so that members and get their votes back.  Once an idea is delivered the members will get the votes that they applied returned to them.  You will see this happen once we release 7.2 later this year.  We have also added some features to the ideas module based upon feedback from our Evoq Social customers.  Once this site is upgraded to the latest release we will be able to better leverage those features.  In Evoq Social 1.1 we introduced the ability to close an idea.  This means that the company has no intention of delivering the idea.  This will also return votes back to the users.

Another thing that we can do on this site is increase the number of votes.  This is important to do as your list of ideas may grow faster than your ability to deliver.  This is something that also has to be managed carefully to ensure you don't end up just allocating more votes to appease those that simply want gain popularity or just vote on everything they see.
