The only way I have been able to get the create portal function for DNN 4.3.3 to work correctly is on a fresh install. I have had no luck doing it after an upgrade. See the post “Error Creating Portal” in Install It. I am looking for an “ETL” process that can move all the portal database information from an old instance to a new one. If anyone has some information on a solution, it would be very much appreciated.

Here is an update: I was able to export a portal template from a 4.3.1 version and import it into a 4.3.3 version. However, it did not go smoothly. I actually had to do it twice - once with the Replace option and then again with the Ignore option. The first time I had a single blank Home page that disappeared but all the other pages were imported! The second time my Home page got imported and luckily the other pages remained!
