Thanks for all the replies.  Forgive me this morning as my thoughts are running together. I need a few more cups of coffee.  I was actually able to get it installed. I am having an issue creating the website. I have tried everything I know. I have used the File Sytem and HTTP.  I really need simple instructions on getting the website up. I am using my win xp box at the moment.  The plan is to use a SBS2003Std box once I learn what I am doing.

Also, is it feasible to use the core DNN technology along with some custom built modules to house account data (30,000 records), create reports from that data and be used to setup and manage a simple loan system that tracks the payment history? Or in your opinion would it be better to use a different technology for this type of application?

I need to know exactly what "I am having an issue creating the website" means.  What is "The issue".  Once you install DNN you simply navigate to the website.  Which in your case will probably be http://localhost or http://localhost/dotnetnuke.

Once you open that page DNN will start installing.  Once it is done installing then you simply go back to the page again and you should see the website.

Are you getting an error message during the install process?  If so what is it?

As far as what you want to do with dotnetnuke I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do it.

please check settings of your web site/virtual directory in IIS. Do not allow folder browsing and enable aspx (as starting page), configure application etc. as written in installation document.
