The skin will control the layout and the look of the page. You place TOKENS in the skin where you need functionality. Skins can be applied at a portal or page level.

Mock up what you want it to look like in Photoshop or Dreamweaver. Then read the skinning guide in the documentation.

Hi

Skinning documentation is a good start, but you'll be stuck there for awhile.  You should install the latest DNN version and get started.  A very basic skin is included and its better to look at an actual skin with the documentation in front of you.

There are plenty of free skins out there as well... and even more for sale.  Check out the directory and marketplace on this site, as well as www.snowcovered.com

Thanks everyone... I think I've got plenty to work on for now. I'm still trying to install a basic dnn install on my server. I have VS 2005 and DNN working fine on local pc but when I go to my server, I get a page cannot be found page.
