you can download most core modules on the dnn download page: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/tabid/125/default.aspx (the modules listed here are all released recently, and should not cause any problems installing)

For matters of completeness, could you answer the following questions:

  • what dnn version, what package
  • what windows version
  • what asp.net versions are installed
  • what sql server version, local or remote?
  • in what order did you install IIS and ASP.NET
  • how did you set access rights to the root of your website (both for the anonymous user and for the worker process identity)

After an install of the module it worked fine... very odd.
