Hallo Heidi,

schön zu hören, viel Spaß mit DotNetNuke.

The current FCKEditor provider is intended to be used with DNN versions 3.3.0+ und 4.3.0+

I suggest to upgrade to 4.4.1 (or wait a few additional days and upgrade to 4.5.0 with a bunch of new and improved features).

Cheers from Germany,
Sebastian Leupold

Sebastian,

You are going to kill me.  Where do I find the installation instructions?  I have downloaded, again, the FCK editor from this site, as you asked earlier.  However, I don't see anywhere installation instructions.  My first thread outlined the icons that I find in the downloaded package.  It seems like I'm not getting my questions answered so that I can do the job.

Thanks again,

Heidi

Hello Heidi,

Just to make sure we're on the same page, the current version of the FCKEditor Provider is 1.00.07.

When you open the ZIP file you should see three entries.  One file and two filders.

  • Install.txt - a text file containing the installation instructions.
  • Bin - a directory containing the dll's.
  • Providers - a folder containing additional files.

If you don't have the above then you don't have the correct download.  Below is the link to the official FCKEditor Provider Project Page.

I hope this helps,

Chuck R.

Chuck,

You are a life saver.  I downloaded the fck editor many times from the dnn website and have no idea what went wrong because each time after unzipping I got all these weird icons that I talked about in my first thread.  Now I finally got the three folders that I was looking for.  Thanks you soo much!!!

Just another questions, if I could.  So now I go to my hosting account and go to file manager and then click on dnn and transfer somehow those folders over.  Can you help me out with the installation process.  I am not a professional webdesigner - just trying to get a website up for a new business that I'm starting.  As you noticed I am a little "stupid" with this technical stuff.  I really appreciate this forum and you guys that are doing this as if it was nothing.

Sincerely,

Heidi Walker
